What you get are pre-printed forms with information typed in the blank spaces. When you are across the bench from the judge, however, there is nothing in the way of assistance in knowing the mechanics of filing and pursuing your own action. Judges often have to spend a lot of time redrafting decrees that do not meet statutory requirements. Somtimes, they send the party home with no decree or guidance as to how to complete the task.
